This Configuration Guide is written as general guide on how to configure the Poly VVX D230 phone model to work with PBXware 6.7.1.
To start and successfully complete registration of your Poly VVX D230 phone you need to know which phone model you will setup.
From the back of each Poly phone there are exact model information that you should check. Although different phone models can have exactly the same requirements and installation procedure, phone models can also have significantly different requirements and installation procedure, so that ignorance of your own model may result in the inability to successfully set up your phone.
Fully configured and operational DHCP server.

In order to find out the PBXware version:
On the top of About page is a code similar to this one PBXware Edition: Business, Release: 6.7.1. (387597b7), Running: 16.16.1-gc-c0d40968, PBXware Proxy v6.7.1 (7009484), API: 6, libmemcached version: 1.0.18, where Release denotes the exact version of your PBXware.

NOTE: If you are using Power over Ethernet (PoE), you don't need to connect the AC adapter. Make sure the Ethernet cable and router or switch is Power over Ethernet (PoE) compliant.

Find out your Poly VVX D230 phone IP Address.
The IP address will be displayed on the top of the display.
This step is not required for brand new out-of-the-box phones, however, if the phone has been already used then it is a must.
NOTE: Do not unplug or remove power to the phone while it is updating firmware and configurations.

Enter a name for the extension being created. Example: John Smith.
Enter the e-mail address associated with this extension. This e-mail address will receive all system notification messages. Example: john.smith@bicomsystems.com
Department to which extension will belong to. Example: Sales.

REQUIRED FIELDS:
Clear the ProxyServer default check box and enter IP address of the registration server.
Clear the ProxyServerPort check box and enter 5060.
Clear the ProxyServerTransport check box and select UDP.
Clear the RegistrarServer check box and enter IP address of the registration server.
Clear the RegistrarServerPort check box and enter 5060.
Click Submit. Otherwise your changes will be lost.
On Configuration Update Screen, click the Return button to continue the configuration process.
REQUIRED FIELDS:
Clear the Enable default check box and check value to enable the service.
Clear the X_DisplayNumber default check box and enter enter PBXware Extension number.
Clear the X_ServProvProfile check box and select A to associate to ITSP Profile A.
Under SIP Credentials section clear the AuthUserName check box and enter PBXware Extension Username. Example: 700101.
Clear the AuthPassword check box and enter PBXware Extension Secret.
The Secret of the Extension as received in the e-mail associated with this Extension. Example: _%Z4M3*Ts9y7. A password is generated automatically for each newly created Extension.
Click Submit.
Dial *123 to verify the registration.

Enter Poly VVX D230 phone MAC address. Example: 9CADEF123456. MAC address can be found at the back of the phone.

If you choose to use HTTP or HTTPS server type, enter http:// or https:// followed by Hostname or IP Address, and then followed by /prov/$mac.xml in ConfigURL.
Replace username and password with Auto Provisioning username and password.
Example of a Hostname using HTTP: http://username:password@abc.bicomsystems.com/prov/$mac.xml
Example of a Hostname using HTTPS: https://username:password@abc.bicomsystems.com/prov/$mac.xml,tls-profile=1
NOTE: When using HTTPS, it is required to add tls-profile=1.
Example of an IP Address using HTTP: http://username:password@192.168.1.10/prov/$mac.xml
Example of an IP Address using HTTPS: https://username:password@192.168.1.10/prov/$mac.xml,tls-profile=1

If you choose to use TFTP server type, enter tftp:// followed by Hostname or IP Address
Example of a Hostname: tftp://abc.bicomsystems.com/$mac.xml
Example of an IP Address: tftp://192.168.1.10/$mac.xml
NOTE: If you choose to use HTTPS as a protocol for registering your device, you will need to install certificate to your device.
To install certificate, please do the following:
You will have to wait some time for the device to reboot. If everything is done as described above, you should have successfully installed certificate to your device.
